A good glass bottle is a container that will go through the customer's filling line without causing any difficulty and will carry his product to the consumer.It is,therefore,essential that before a container is released for sale from the glass plant,it successfully passes on inspection with standards set to meet the customer's needs.There are approximately one hundred defects which can develop in the container during the production process,some beyond the control of the operator. For example stones:but by far the largest number occur either in the feeder or machine operation.It's important that all production personnel learn to recognize the defects and understand what remedies to use in order to eliminate them.Here we would like to summarize the ten defects which are the most common in glass bottle during production :

Pudding Glass Bottle

[1] Crack :Cracks is the most common defects in glass bottle, probably it is very fine-grained, Mainly generate at the mouth,neck,shoulder ,body and bottom of the bottle .

[2] Uneven distribution: Uneven distribution is most visible in the body of bottle. Look for a buildup of glass on one side and a lack of glass or thinness on the other. Uneven distribution does not typically reduce structural integrity, but it can depending on severity.

[3]  Distortion: Overtemperature in dropping and operation , and the bottle that has been removed from the forming mold has not yet been completely shaped and tends to fall, Sometimes the bottom of the bottle is still soft will be printed on the conveyor lines and makes the bottle uneven

[4] Not full: Dropping temperature is too low or the model is too cold will easily make the mouth, shoulders are not full, resulting in gaps, deflated shoulder and obscure pattern and other defects.

[5] Cold Spot :The uneven spot in the surface of the beverage glass bottle is called cold spot. The cause of this defect is mainly from the model temperature is too cold, it occurs more in the beginning of production or during production

[6] Protrusion: The defects of protruding in mold lines of bottle or mouth rim , This is due to the fact that the parts of the model are not properly manufactured or are not properly installed. The model is damaged, there is dirt on the joint surface, the top core is too late to enter the position before the frit has fallen into the primary mold, it will make a part of the glass from the gap out or blow out.

[7] Wrinkle: Wrinkles have a variety of shapes, some creases, and some are very thin wrinkles. The cause of the wrinkles is mainly due to the too cold and too long in drop of the material, the droplet does not fall in the middle of the early mold and sticks to the cavity of the mold.

[8] Surface defects: The surface of the jar is hairy, uneven, mainly due to the mold cavity is not smooth. Or The model of the lubricant is not clean or oiled brushes are too dirty. Also make the quality of the bottle surface reduced .

[9] Bubble: bubbles in the wall that are completely surrounded by glass. A sealed bubble is a minor defect and should not be of significant concern. An open blister is more serious. Open blisters are bubbles on the container surface that are considered critical defects

[10] Scissors mark: Owning to poor shear and obvious residue in the bottle. Usually has two scissor marks for one droplet, the above scissor makrs stay in the bottom, affecting the appearance. The following scissor makrs stay in mouth which often the origin of the crack.
